Locaton and Transportation

Lhasa Gonggar International Airport is about 60km away from. It takes about 50 minutes to transfer from the airport to the hotel. You can take the airport shuttle bus to Lhasa city first, then take a taxi to the hotel. You can also book a airport pick-up from your travel agency in Lhasa. If you arrive at Lhasa by train, you only have to take a ride of 20 minutes from Lhasa Railway Station to the Resort. Taxi is recommended. Your tour operator usually will pick up you in the railway station.

Jianzang Hotel started its business in 2002.The Jian Zang Hotel is the best budget hotel in Gyangtse. This 2 star hotel has clean and comfortable rooms in a courtyard style building. The shower does not have a curtain, but since you only stayed here one night that isn't a major shortcoming. Tibetan suites are available upon request.

The hotel has free parking for guests with their own vehicles. The television does not have CNN or BBC, but CCTV 9 can provide adequate English language news.

The boss of Jian Zang hotel is Dr. Gyantsen. He named the hotel after himself, which is funny because the Chinese characters for his name (Jian Zang) translate as "Developing Tibet" Dr. Gyantsen likes to hang out in the lobby and practice his English by greeting foreign guests.

Zhangmu Hotel is located at the lower end of the town near the customs post.Zhangmu Hotel which is investigated by the government had modern and luxurious rooms. You can get a beautiful mountain views from the overpriced back rooms. The massage center which is operated by the hotel helps you release fatigue.

Caiyuan Hotel is one of the newest hotel in Zhangmu at the border of Tibet and Nepal. The rooms have electricity, lots of running hot water, very nice sound of waterfalls outside the window. The rooms are pretty good too, there was lots of lights in the room. This hotel can be regarded as a 3 star standard.Since this is your first stop from Tingri, you will appreciate the electricity and hot water.

Everest Hotel is located in Baiba Town of Dingri County, which is 100km away from Mt. Everest. Compared other hotels in Dingri County and Everest area, Everest Hotel is able to provide different kinds of rooms ,such as standard cabin, Tibetf style cabin, top-grade economy class and others. All the rooms are equipped with lights, showers, hot water supplies, electric blankets etc. Though the facilities are not fully-equipped, there are very helpful staffs in Everest Hotel. Before turning to Mount Everest, you can have a good rest in this hotel. With a large wood-burning stove in the center, the small restaurant is rather warm.

The Tent Guesthouses will provide you once-in-a-lifetime experience to spend the night – in the shadow of Mount Everest. Located near Rongbuk Monastery, there are many tents operated by different Tibetan nomads. Some tents are divided into two or three compartments, and some tents have only one room. The tents with single room are made of yak hair. These yak hair tenements are surprisingly robust and comfortable, as the yak hair can withstand both downpours and strong sunshine. In every tent, facilities include water bottle, power sockets, tables, and stoves. There are about 10 beds in one tent and you have to share one room with other tourists. There is no big restaurant nearby, but paid basic food is provided by the owners of these guesthouses. In case that the food is not good enough for you, it is recommend to prepare some food or snacks before visiting Mount Everest. In this tent village, only one rather rough toilet without washing area outside the tents and you need to pay for it.

Opening Time

The Tent Guesthouses are only available from late April to early October because the owners will leave for home during the extremely cold winter. The availability depends on the weather and volume of tourists. If the tent village is absent or you prefer an independent room, it is available to accommodate at Rongbuk Monastery Guesthouse.

Nyingchi Hotel is a four-star hotel with well-equipped facilities and good service. The hotel boasts 74 rooms ranging from standard room, 3 person room, and business suite to Tibetan style suite and 138 beds in total. All the guest rooms have private toilet, electronic room card, 24 hours hot and cold water, cable TV, IDD and DDD, fire alarm and air conditioner.
