Tibet Travel Guide
Tibet Autonomous Region is situated in the southwest border area of China in the southwest of the Qinghai-Tibet Plateau is divided into one prefecture-level city (Lhasa) and six prefectures (Shigatse, Ngari, Nagqu, Chamdo, Lhoka and Nyingchi). Nyingchi
Praised as the "Switzerland of Tibet", Nyingchi has a moist weather and a beautiful scenery. The Namjagbarwa Peak, the world-known Yarlung Zongbo Canyon, the Lake Basumtso, together with other unique natural sceneries is attracting large numbers of tourists from home and abroad.
Chamdo
Chamdo is a beautiful, vast and rich area. It attracts tourists from home and abroad with its wonderful landscape, ancient historical sites, and local folklore. It is part the China Shangri-La Ecological Tourism Zone and is famous for the "Ancient Tea an Horse Road".
Nagqu
The beauty of Nagqu lies in its natural beauties: the ancient Yamtung cultural site, the Bon monasteries, the Holy Lake Namtso, the vast Changtang grassland. The herdsmen's life on the plateau in Nagqu are also very attractive to tourists.
Ngari
Ngari is the pinnacle of the "Roof of the world" and the most "Tibetan" part of Tibet. It's the place where Mt. Kailash locates.
